Imagine...you've crawled out of bed, made some vague attempt at grooming and hygiene and stumbled out of the door to be met with pouring rain. At least three giant mudpuddles stand between you and your daily commute. You're faced with a choice:
1) Grumble and avoid the water, hoping not to spoil your day's ensemble.
2) Strap on a grin and jump joyously into every single puddle then proceed to embark on your day with wet, muddy clothes, yet with a silly smile wrapped all the way around your head.
Which choice will you make?
Many things that I will not relate at this time inspire this blog. However, I can tell you this for starters:
I have in my possession a chubby little book called 14,000 Thing To Be Happy About by Barbara Ann Kipfer. This book was given to me back in the early 1990’s by a strange and wonderful friend. This blog will employ some items from this book, but mostly it will present my own happy, silly, fun musings and inspirations.
Ms. Kipfer describes this ginormous (sure, that’s a word!) list of happy-type things as a means of sparking recognition and appreciation for the little things that exist in our daily lives that can make us happy. No, really. They’re there…I promise! Somedays you have to look harder than others, but they really ARE there. The good news is, that’s why I’m here. To help you look, to give you a hand when you believe there really is nothing to find and to give you an opportunity to share those lovely little smiley things you discover with others.
Strap on a grin and jump in!
DAILY AMUSING#1: Fluffernutters
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this delicious concoction, allow me to describe. There’s this delightful white, gooey, yummy stuph called Fluff. If you live somewhere besides Northeastern U.S., you may find something similar in the grocery store called Marshmallow Crème. This is NOT the same thing. Fluff is Fluff, and that’s just the way it is. Sorry.
Fluffernutter explanation is as follows. On the jar/plastic tub of Fluff, you will find a description of a Fluffernutter. It says (and I quote) “The sandwich made with marshmallow fluff and peanut butter.” Now…if you’ve never tasted this delicacy, I strongly recommend that you check it out. (Unless you’re diabetic…in which case, you will likely risk a severe sugar coma from hell and that would be VERY bad.)
Instructions:
1) Take two slices of bread (I prefer fresh bakery white, but any scrumptious slices will do)
2) Schmear some good peanut butter on one slice
3) Schmear some Fluff on the other slice (I prefer to start w/PB due to the highly viscous nature of the marshmallow fluff which tends to prohibit dippage into the PB jar)
4) Smoosh together and enjoy (preferably with a glass of milk)
*Tune in tomorrow for more happified stuph. J
