Daily A~Musing #14:  Audrey Hepburn, actress

Just look at her…she’s a human-shaped poem.  Part of what makes her beauty so exquisite IS her imperfections…the slightly too big ears, the mildly crooked teeth, the bobble-head atop of that tiny little figure.   A huge chunk of her charm stems from the deep pain, wisdom and genuine wonder about the world...an ethereal essence that seems to emanate from her.  All qualities which appear almost palpable, even on film.  Like you could reach out and touch her pixie-fairy hem and be lifted into a better place.

Significant Audrey-Goddess Stats:

*Born May 4, 1929 (Yup!  She’s a Taurus, just like me!) in Brussels, Belgium*

*Parents divorced when she was 6 (dad was a Nazi sympathizer)*

*Considered becoming a professional ballerina and portrayed an ingénue in one of her
            films*

*Witnessed the shooting of two family members by the Germans which was part of
the impetus for her passionate commitment to UNICEF which works with children
who have suffered in war-torn regions*

*Was too anemic and malnourished to be a ballerina, so she became an actress*

*First big role was “Gigi,” but her first film was “Lavender Hill Mob”*

*“Roman Holiday” made her a star…she received an Oscar for her role as the princess*
*Died in Switzerland of colon cancer at age 63*

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
If you are fortunate enough to have a Valentine to share this day with, thank the universe for your favor and remember to share your love with others.  If you do not have a Valentine today or had a Valentine who disappointed you, consider the Haitian children who have lost their parents and other family members and DO SOMETHING to help them and, more selfishly, to help yourself by sending positive energy out into the universe with the hope that it will be returned to you.  Can't hurt, may help.

  1. Actually, she was denied a career as a ballerina due to the fact that she was too tall to be a prima ballerina.
